Peche New Orleans LA

When it comes to seafood on the Gulf Coast, New Orleans is definitely a bright spot on the map. But what is the bright spot on the map of New Orleans? That would be Peche.

Award-winning chef Donald Link opened Peche in 2013. You’ve probably heard of Donald Link–he’s also the chef at Cochon and Herbsaint. Even if you have tried his other restaurants, Peche stands alone.

The charm and appeal of Peche start with the building. Manager Tomy Lagneaux spoke about the unique building.

“This building actually used to be a carriage house in the late 1800’s,” he says. “These wooden beams in the dining room are the actual original beams from the carriage house.”

The focus at Peche is simple–good, local seafood with Southern flavors.

“All of our seafood is from right here in the Gulf,” says Tomy. “We keep the flavors local and it makes a big difference.”

Kick off your Peche experience with an order of the Fried Bread with Sea Salt. The Fried Bread is crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside. You might want two orders because these are addicting!

But since Peche is a seafood restaurant, let’s talk seafood. Tomy talked to us about the favorite dish at Peche.

“A lot of people love our Whole Grilled Fish,” he says. “The presentation is amazing.”

The Whole Grilled Fish is served a la carte–just the way you can find it in the Gulf.

And the beef options aren’t an afterthought. The Grilled Skirt Steak with Salsa Verde hangs with the best steakhouses in the city.

The bar at Peche has a fantastic selection of specialty craft cocktails. For a cocktail that is perfect for a warm New Orleans day, try The Hemingway. The Hemingway features Citadelle Gin, Maraschino, cucumbers and grapefruit–so refreshing!

Spend a relaxing evening enjoying the fresh flavors of Peche.
